The Rest. Educate. Motivate. (R.E.M.) Program, developed by Sweet Dreamzzz Detroit, Oakland University School of Education and the National Health, Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health, provides sleep education and bedtime essentials to elementary school children. Sweet Dreamzzz Detroit administers the R.E.M. Program with the belief that well-rested children are better prepared for classroom learning.

On R.E.M. Program day, children arrive at The Detroit Children's Museum where they are greeted by Sweet Dreamzzz Detroit volunteers, and given a snack and beverage provided by The Salvation Army. They then go to classrooms for a fun education on the importance of healthy sleep habits and 10 basic sleep tips taught by Sleeper Teachers who have been trained by Oakland University's Train the Trainer Program. Before returning to school, the children are given a sleep kit containing a sleeping bag, pillow, nightshirt, socks toothbrush, toothpaste, stuffed animal, activity book and crayons.
