In 2003, Sweet Dreamzzz Detroit developed the Kits for Kidzzz Program in which individuals, community organizations and corporations can sponsor individual sleep kits to at-risk children throughout the Detroit area. The Salvation Army identifies children through their social work department then delivers a sleep kit containing a sleeping bag, nightshirt, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, stuffed animal, activity book and crayons to the children. Individual sleep kits, with a current market value of more than $75, can be sponsored for $35 each.
The Kits for Kidzzz Program provides a year-round service to children in various locations and continues to support Sweet Dreamzzz Detroit's mission of providing sleep essentials and education to children thoughout the City of Detroit.
